Creation

Process of character creation consists of several steps, taken one-by-one:

  1. Roll 5d6, remove one highest and one lowest rolled die result. Do this five times, exclude the highest and lowest sum of results. After getting 3 values, use them as your stats of your choice.
  2. Select your race, class, role and background, that you feel will benefit to your story and your group.
  3. Spread 3 additional points into skills you find most interesting.

This is basically it!

Let's check some examples:

My rolls:
3 + 6 + 2 + 3 + 3 = 9 (6 and 2 excluded)
6 + 5 + 4 + 4 + 5 = 14 (6 and 4 excluded, highest result)
6 + 4 + 2 + 6 + 2 = 12 (6 and 2 excluded)
2 + 5 + 2 + 3 + 2 = 7 (5 and 2 excluded, lowest result)
1 + 1 + 6 + 4 + 2 = 7 (6 and 1 excluded)

My stats will be: 9, 12 and 7. Don't forget to lower them by 10 before writing down!
10 is the "absolute average" for many characters of this world, and provide no advantage or disadvantage, essentially being +0 bonus to rolls. Anything lower than that means you will struggle, anything higher - that the task is easy for you

I want to be a human to keep it simple.
I feel the need to crush some skulls and be brave, so I pick "Warrior" class, "Spearhead" role and "Hero" background.
I feel that "Body" should be my primary stat, "Presence" will follow it, and I don't need that much of a "Mind".
I feel that brave warrior will need to be even more brave and bold, so I put additional points into "Resolve" and "Endurance".

My stats and skills at this point:

  • Body: 2 + 1 ("Warrior")
    • Strength: +2 ("Warrior" and "Spearhead")
    • Finesse: +0
    • Endurance: +2 (skillpoint)
  • Mind: -3
    • Insight: +0
    • Lore: +0
    • Awareness: +0
  • Presence: -1
    • Resolve: +1 (skillpoint)
    • Charm: +0
    • Intuition: +0

So now, for example, If I'll need to remember something from the tales of old, I will roll "Mind+Lore", which is 3d6-3, and if I'll need to break down a door - it will be "Body+Stength", which is 3d6+3+2d3.
